My Priorities
At the heart of my campaign is a simple belief: people come first. Every decision I make and every policy I support will be rooted in improving the quality of life for the families, workers, and communities that call District 55 home.
I am committed to advocating for thoughtful, effective legislation that creates opportunity, strengthens our neighborhoods, and ensures that every resident has the ability to live, work, and thrive right here in our district.
My priorities include:
Accessible Healthcare and Mental Health Services
Expanding access to affordable, quality care while addressing the growing need for mental health support across our communities.
Stronger Schools and Workforce Development
Investing in education and building pathways into skilled trades and careers that provide long term stability and economic mobility.
Infrastructure and Community Revitalization
Improving roads, utilities, and public spaces while bringing new life to underserved areas through intentional and sustainable development.
Affordable Housing and Utility Relief
Supporting policies that make housing attainable and reduce the burden of rising utility costs for working families.
Preservation of Historic Landmarks
Protecting the rich history of District 55 while using it as a foundation for growth, pride, and cultural identity.
Ending Food Deserts
Ensuring that every community has access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food options.
Public Safety and Stronger Communities
Promoting safe neighborhoods through balanced, community focused solutions that emphasize prevention, accountability, and long term stability. This includes supporting policies that protect families, address domestic violence, and ensure survivors have access to the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.
I also believe in a justice system that holds individuals accountable while creating real opportunities for rehabilitation and successful reentry. Strong communities are built when we reduce repeat offenses, support second chances, and invest in solutions that make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
Small Business Growth and Sustainability
Advocating for policies that help local businesses grow, create jobs, and remain a strong foundation in our communities.
District 55 deserves leadership that is present, listens, learns, and works. That is exactly what I will bring.
About jenny
Jennifer “Jenny” Craig is a community leader, entrepreneur, and proud resident of Fairfield who is running to represent Alabama House District 55 because she believes every neighborhood deserves opportunity, investment, and a strong voice in Montgomery.
Jenny’s commitment to community is deeply rooted in family. She shared a special bond with her twin brother, James Leon Craig Jr., whose memory continues to inspire her dedication to service and community leadership.
Today, Jenny remains close with the family who means the most to her. Her mother, father, and sister continue to be a source of strength and guidance in her life. She is also very close with her two nephews, her niece, and her great nephew. They remind her every day why building stronger communities and creating opportunity for the next generation matters.
Jenny currently serves as President of the New Fairfield District 3 Neighborhood Association, where she works alongside residents to improve neighborhoods, organize community events, and bring people together to solve problems.
Her leadership philosophy is simple. Be present, listen, learn, and work. Jenny believes that good leadership starts with showing up, listening to the people you serve, learning what matters most to them, and doing the work necessary to deliver results.
In addition to her community leadership, Jenny brings real world experience as a certified electrician and a flight attendant. These careers have given her firsthand insight into the challenges facing working families and the importance of dependable infrastructure, skilled trades, and economic opportunity.
Jenny is also an entrepreneur focused on revitalizing the local economy through business development and hospitality ventures that bring jobs and investment back into the community.
Through her campaign initiative, Jenny’s Local Love, she highlights and supports small businesses across District 55 because she believes thriving local businesses are the backbone of strong neighborhoods.
When elected, Jenny will work to advance legislation and policies that strengthen neighborhoods, support small businesses, expand workforce development opportunities, preserve historic landmarks, and improve infrastructure and resources for underserved communities.
Jenny believes government works best when it stays connected to the people it represents. Her goal is to ensure that the voices of District 55 residents are heard and respected in Montgomery.
